DETRC Warehouse and Food Pantry Supervisor

The Deep East Texas Resource Center, a branch of the East Texas Food Bank, is looking for an independent self-starter for its Warehouse and Food Pantry Supervisor position in Lufkin.  This position oversees day-to-day operations of warehouse and food pantry services and will have frequent contact with volunteers, clients and the general public.  They will train, coordinate and direct volunteers, provide excellent customer service to pantry clients, and provide referrals and information to “out-of-area” clients.  Maintains accurate records and submits requested reports to the Food Bank. Works closely with the Branch Manager to place recurring food orders with the East Texas Food Bank, and ensures compliance with all state-funded food programs, requires occasional travel to East Texas Food Bank in Tyler or area Food Pantries for meetings.

Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor degree preferred.  Customer service experience. Experience with Microsoft applications.  Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds and climb ladders.  Language, mathematical skills, and reasoning ability. English required, bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. Highly organized. Ability to prioritize work and complete work in a timely fashion. Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedure manuals.  Ability to communicate and to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions whether written, oral or in diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.  Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
