SUMMARY: The Junior League of Tyler and the East Texas Food Bank have partnered for the fifth year for the Summer BackPack Program. Each Friday this summer, children at 15 Summer Food Program sites in Tyler will receive a backpack of food for the weekend, filled with nutritious kid-friendly items such as soup, peanut butter, granola bars, fruit, juice and shelf-stable milk. The Junior League of Tyler provided $15,000 for the program, enough for approximately 3,700 backpacks to be distributed.
