Smith County Food Security Council hosts program offering fresh produce, info on community resources
The Smith County Food Security Council and the East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) hosted an all-day event Tuesday where East Texans could fill their grocery bags and learn more about the resources the community offers. Whataburger, East Texas community collects more than 30,000 pounds of food for families in need
Following the annual Christmas in July food drive and ornament fundraiser, Whataburger and the East Texas community collected more than 36,186 pounds of food and raised $13,893 to help feed East Texas families in need.
