Programs
The East Texas Food Bank cares about children, families and seniors who do not have enough food to eat. Everyday, we work to feed people through a variety of programs and services.
The BackPack Program helps to alleviate child hunger by providing hungry children with nutritious and easy to prepare food at times when other resources are not available, such as weekends and school vacations.
The Kids Cafe and Afterschool Snack Program helps alleviate child hunger by providing hungry children with nutritious meals at times when other resources are not available, such as afterschool.
The Summer Food Program serves children in low-income communities who participate in free and reduced feeding programs during the school year.
The Senior Box Program is designed to improve the health and nutrition of senior citizens. The goal of the Senior Box Program is to provide a free box of nutritious food to 1,900 people each month in identified communities within the East Texas Food Bank's service area where seniors may have little or no access to food assistance.
Senior Servings is a program targeting seniors who receive meal assistance through a partner agency such as Meals on Wheels during the week, but face hunger on the weekends when these programs do not operate.
