Mission

The mission of the East Texas Food Bank Longview Resource Center is to fight hunger and feed hope in East Texas. The Longview Resource Center is a program of ETFB located in South Longview at 2900 Signal Hill Drive. We are also accessible via Longview Transit Route 1.

The goal of the Longview Resource Center is to provide a one-stop-shop of wraparound services with a food pantry, benefits assistance and other support services.

Benefits Assistance

Need additional support? Get help applying for social service programs to help with getting food, medical care and other services. Our Benefits Assistance Program is by appointment only. Learn more about the programs available and request virtual or in-person assistance.

When can I receive food assistance?

Clients may visit the food pantry once a week.

Do I have to live in Longview to receive food?

No, all are welcome.

How do I qualify to receive food?

The food pantry is meant to serve households at or below The Emergency Food Assistance Program income guidelines. Households that are experiencing a crisis may also qualify for short-term food assistance.

What ID or paperwork is required to receive food?

No identification or paperwork is required to receive assistance. You will be asked for a verbal declaration of your full name, address, number of people in your household, date of birth, and your monthly income.

How do I pick up my food?

You can park and enter the facility through the door facing Signal Hill Drive. You will be greeted at the reception desk and asked for your full name, address, number of people in your household, date of birth, and your monthly income. After that, you will be asked to sit in our waiting area for a short time before walking through our food pantry to select your food from a range of shelf-stable items, meat, and fresh produce. Grocery carts will be available.

What other services are available besides the food pantry?

The Benefits Assistance Program can help you apply for other programs like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicare, Medicare Savings Program, Medicaid, Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF), Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Texas Women’s Health Program. Please see the calendar for full programs and services currently offered.

Volunteer

LRC Volunteers

We could not fulfill our mission of fighting hunger and feeding hope without our generous volunteers. We welcome volunteers at least 11 years old. Volunteers ages 11-16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Volunteer shifts are available Tuesday-Saturday at our food pantry.
