Senior Leadership

Dennis CullinaneDennis Cullinane is the Executive Director of the East Texas Food Bank. Mr. Cullinane joined the East Texas Food Bank team in March 2010 from San Marcos, California where he was the Senior Vice President of Operations at Centerplate. Centerplate is a leading provider of high volume contract food, merchandise and facility management services to major convention, sports and cultural attraction facilities in North America. His combined 30 years experience in the food industry at both Centerplate and Ogden Food Service Corporation has given him valuable experience in organizational development, strategic team building, financial analysis, financial/budget administration, project management warehousing, inventory management and distribution pipelines. Mr. Cullinane's volunteer work includes: Volunteers San Diego, North San Diego County Food Bank volunteer, Century Club of San Diego hospitality committee, Ivy Tech State College former board member and Texas Restaurant Association former board member among others. Mr. Cullinane earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management/ Business Concentration at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his MBA at University of Phoenix.

Peggy BerryPeggy Berry has served as the Development Director since January 2000. She has a background of over 15 years in donor development and fundraising with nonprofits. Mrs. Berry’s work at the East Texas Food Bank has increased the donor base of support from less than a 1,000 donors in 2000 to over 17,000 donors throughout 26 counties in 2007. In 2005, she led the ‘Freeze Out Hunger’ capital campaign, raising over $4 million dollars to build one of the largest cold storage facilities in the America’s Second Harvest-The Nation’s Food Bank Network. The capital campaign also led to a major gift to establish the East Texas Food Bank Foundation. In addition to her duties at the East Texas Food Bank, Mrs. Berry is a leader in numerous community and professional organizations. Mrs. Berry earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business from The University of Texas at Austin. Mrs. Berry earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 2007. Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to service to nonprofit organizations. Initially, candidates must pass a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive.

Karolyn DavisKarolyn Davis joined the East Texas Food Bank team in March 2007 as the Communications Director. Mrs. Davis has a background in both television and nonprofit. Prior to her work for the East Texas Food Bank, Mrs. Davis worked for KLTV, an ABC affiliate, where she was a television reporter. While at KLTV her stories received national attention. Additionally, she worked as the Executive Director of St. Paul Children's Foundation, a nonprofit organization and partner agency of the East Texas Food Bank. She has worked successfully with the local media, keeping coverage of the East Texas Food Bank in radio, television, and print up-to-date. Mrs. Davis earned her Bachelor’s in Communication Broadcasting with a minor in Marketing at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Rosemary McClainRosemary McClain has served as Director of Food Sourcing at the East Texas Food Bank since 1991. In that period of time, she has seen the poundage grow from 25,000 pounds the first month the East Texas Food Bank distributed food to member agencies, to over 1 million pounds-per-month sixteen years later. Mrs. McClain also assisted in the development of the annual Robert E. Lee and John Tyler High School ‘Pantry Raid,’ one of the largest annual food drives in the community, collecting over 700,000 pounds of food since 1991. She has also worked side-by-side with the local members of the National Association of Letter Carriers during their annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Additionally, she also supervises several East Texas Food Bank programs including Agency Services, Child Hunger Programs, Nutrition Education, and Outreach and Enrollment. Rosemary is also a leader in the community, serving on numerous community and professional organizations. Mrs. McClain earned her Bachelor's in Education from Baylor University.

Joey MorrisJoey Morris has served as Director of Operations since 1998 and has been with the East Texas Food Bank since 1994. Mr. Morris came to the East Texas Food Bank with nine years of prior experience in food distribution for the Brookshire Grocery Company. During his time at the East Texas Food Bank, he has helped see the growth from 2 million pounds of food per year to over 13 million distributed through service programs such as Direct Delivery and Produce People Care. Additionally he assisted in the implementation of the Reclamation Center which brings in over 300,000 pounds of donated product annually. In addition to his work at the East Texas Food Bank, Mr. Morris has been an avid community volunteer for over ten years, serving with numerous nonprofit organizations. Morris earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler.

Cassandra JohnsonCassandra Johnson serves as the Finance Manager and has been with the East Texas Food Bank since 1998. She holds an Associates of Arts in Business from Tyler Junior College.
