A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast Comes to Life at
The Market at the Crossing benefiting
the East Texas Food Bank
(Tyler, Texas) October 23, 2013 – The Market at the Crossing and LT24, a service organization from Leadership Tyler Class 24, will host the fourth annual “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast” benefiting the East Texas Food Bank. The event will take place at The Market at the Crossing, just past Fresh on Old Jacksonville Highway, on Friday, November 8th at 6:00 pm. The public is asked to bring a jar of peanut butter to donate to the East Texas Food Bank.
“This has been a great event to not only bring in food donations for the needy but raise awareness of the East Texas Food Bank, which plays such a critical role in reducing hunger in the region,” said Brian Pearson, an LT24 member and Tyler Morning Telegraph managing editor. “It also shows children that Thanksgiving is not so much about the kind of food you eat but more about people coming together to feed the spirit of giving and celebrate their loved ones, friendships and blessings. It’s such a joyful thing to see this wonderful event enter its fourth year.”
The feast, based on the popular holiday favorite A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, will feature goodies such as jelly beans, pretzels, popcorn, toast, ice cream and drinks – all of the items brought by the children for their Thanksgiving dinner in the movie. A special presentation of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will follow.
“The East Texas Food Bank is looking forward to our fourth annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and we are proud to have made this an annual event for the children,” said Dennis Cullinane, executive director of the East Texas Food Bank. “It’s a great opportunity to share this holiday classic with the kids, teach them the meaning of Thanksgiving and the importance of sharing with the less fortunate.”
Thanks to the sponsors of the event which include: Brookshire’s, Popcorn Junction, Jason’s Deli, Sweet Gourmet, The Tyler Morning Telegraph and The Market at the Crossing.
